Abxylute M5 and M6 mobile controllers arrive on Kickstarter

Abxylute has opened its Kickstarter campaign for the M5 and M6 mobile controllers. If you prefer physical controls to covering your phone’s screen with your fingers, these are two new options to keep an eye on.

The brand’s website now directs visitors to the live campaign. Its earlier reservation offer used a $5 deposit to unlock a separate promotional pledge price. That $5 was not the price of a complete controller, so it should not be presented as one.

That distinction is especially important with crowdfunding. A deposit, a campaign pledge and a finished product in a shop are three different things. The final amount also depends on the reward tier and any shipping or taxes that apply.

I like the idea of making phone gaming more comfortable without buying another gaming device. But before backing either controller, check the campaign’s compatibility information against your exact phone, case and preferred games. A magnetic attachment alone does not establish game support.

The campaign is live; delivery should still be treated as a crowdfunding commitment rather than guaranteed immediate retail availability.
