Brook StarRay brings Xbox-style stick placement to a PS5-compatible controller

Prefer an Xbox-style stick layout but play on PS5? Brook’s StarRay controller is designed around that combination, offering native PS5 support with asymmetrical thumbsticks.
Controls and platform support
In its October 6 availability announcement, Brook lists compatibility with PS5, PC, iOS and Android through Bluetooth or USB-C. The controller uses Hall Effect sticks, mechanical buttons and switchable trigger modes.
The triggers can move between a longer pull for racing games and a short input for shooters. PC players also get a claimed polling rate of up to 1,000Hz through a wired connection; that figure should not be read as a promise for every platform or connection mode.
Who the StarRay suits
Brook’s app provides button remapping, sensitivity and dead-zone adjustments, macros and firmware updates. Additional shoulder and rear buttons give players more controls to assign.
The layout is the part that makes this interesting to me. You are not necessarily looking for more features—you may simply prefer a different grip and stick position. Brook says it is available through its official shop and Amazon store, but comfort and responsiveness still need hands-on evaluation.
