Pimax announces Crystal Pro wireless VR headset and Spation mini-PC

Pimax has introduced the Crystal Pro, a wireless PC VR headset, alongside new ringless controllers and the Spation mini-PC. The headset starts at $1,399, or $1,899 bundled with the company’s third-generation 60G AirLink system.

The main attraction is Native Foveated Streaming. Pimax says the system uses eye tracking to direct image quality towards where you are looking, with its 60GHz link designed to reduce the compromises of wireless PC VR.

Spation takes a different role: it is the computer powering the experience. Announced configurations use desktop-class hardware, including a Ryzen 7 9800X3D or equivalent and an RX 9070 XT or RTX 5070 Ti, rather than simply putting a laptop inside a smaller case.

I like the clear division between headset and computer, but the launch details deserve attention. Pimax’s FAQ puts Crystal Pro shipping in 2027. Spation pricing and shipping dates are still to be announced.

The $1 reservation is access to a waiting list, not the purchase price. This is an announcement of upcoming hardware, not a bundle you can assume will arrive immediately.
