Razer Wolverine V4 brings faster PC polling and new thumbsticks to Xbox controllers

Looking for an Xbox controller with more room to customise your controls? Razer has announced the Wolverine V4 Pro and Wolverine V4 Tournament Edition, with new capacitive thumbstick sensors and faster input reporting on PC.

The Pro is the wireless option, while the Tournament Edition uses a wired connection. Razer says the new sensors resist drift and magnetic interference. On PC, the lineup supports polling rates up to 8,000Hz; on Xbox Series X and Series S, that figure is up to 250Hz. That distinction matters—you are not getting the advertised PC polling rate on your console.

The Pro also has four removable magnetic back buttons, two extra bumpers and interchangeable thumbstick caps. Its triggers can switch between a short, quick input and a longer analogue pull, depending on the game.

What stands out to me is the flexibility. Extra buttons and adjustable triggers can be useful without requiring you to change how you hold the controller. Whether the new sticks actually feel better is something hands-on testing needs to establish. For now, this is a hardware announcement, not a verdict on its performance.
